Procarsa is Latin America’s leading producer of carbon steel
line pipe using the high frequency Electric Resistance Welding
process (ERW). It is a 100 % Mexican Company with private
capital, and has been in operation since 1963. It curently has a
presence in more than 15 countries around the world, and its
exports accounted during several years up to 90 % of annual
production.
Its Quality Assurance System has been endorsed with API 5L,
API 5CT, ISO 9001-2000, Federal Electricity Commision (LAPEM),
Pemex Certifications, Mexican Petroleum Institute, as
well as others. Procarsa produce and certify its carbon steel
pipe according to: NMX, ASTM, API 5L, API 5CT, BS, ISO
3183, among others. |

It has its own plant for External Coating able to apply Fusion
Bonded Epoxy, Three Layer Polethylene, Three Layer Polypropilene and others. As
well, Procarsa is able to apply ID Coatings to reduce friction losses in gas pipelines,
Flow Coating or special ID Coating for Aqueducts. |

In 2007 start operations of a new line to produce carbon steel pipe welded by Submerged
Arc Welding (DSAW) increasing its production capacity according to the
following. By Electric Resistence Welded from 2”(60.3 mm) to 24” (610 mm), with
wall thickness from 0.125” (3.2 mm) to 0.500” (12.7 mm) and by Sumberged Arc
Welding (DSAW) from 18” (457 mm) to 48” (1219 mm), with wall thickness from
0.250” (6.4 mm) to 1.125” (28.6 mm) in grades API 5L X-80 (ISO L555) and lower. |
